Why Inspect Your Colorado Drains in the Spring?

Have you ever found yourself wondering why you should inspect your Colorado drains during the spring? Well, there are a few reasons for that. First, you may not have known about a problem during the winter due to how frozen the ground gets. Second, as the ground thaws, you may find extra debris in your sewer and drain lines. Finally, animals may have created a warm and cozy home in your drains during the chill of winter. Now, it is time to make sure everything is cleaned out and working as it should!

Drain Inspection Should Be Done Regularly

Pipe and drain inspections should be done on a regular basis as part of your pipe maintenance. It does not take long, but it gives you a very solid idea of the condition of your pipes currently, and tells you if you are likely to experience problems with them in the near future. We simply take a camera, move it around in your pipes and near your drains, and see what is all going on. If we see signs of a clog, we can fix it before anything backs up on your Colorado property.

Many Colorado Drain Pipes Crack During the Cold Winter Weather

As the temperatures drop, the ground freezes. In the spring, that same ground thaws. However, between those two events when that ground is frozen, it expands from the water in the ground. That puts a lot of pressure on anything in the ground, including your drain and sewer pipes. This can put small cracks in your pipes, allowing dirt and debris inside. This can cause problems with regular water draining through the line. Plus, as the ground begins to thaw, this pressure eases some, which can cause the tiny crack to become larger, or cause part of the pipe to collapse altogether.
